Also, if I go to Systray Preferences, the checkbox for Systray Clock is checked but greyed-out. What is going on? Help please. Thanks.

John

Can you please send me a screenshot of your desktop with the Tasklist & Systray Preferences tab open?

I have this same issue, I installed the program and realized it was not really for me. I uninstalled it and now I have no systray, clock or anything. The clock, and all notifications are set to be on!

EDIT: After I restarted the explorer.exe process the issue was fixed.

John-r's problem was solved by email and turned out that he had unknowingly turned off the NextSTART systray clock.

To replace the Windows taskbar, NextSTART temporarily hides it (and the Windows systray) while displaying its own version. When you exit NextSTART/Winstep Xtreme it gives you back the Windows taskbar again.

If for some reason you manage to crash NextSTART while the Windows taskbar is hidden, all you should need to do to get it back is run NextSTART again (and then exit it immediately, if you want). The new systray in NextSTART (introduced in v9.5) ensures you no longer need to restart Explorer.
