I don't know whether this is possible, but I AM sure you have too much work at the moment to incorporate it soon. but could some kind of optional invisible screen grid be used so that docks would snap into alignment with each other or maybe even latch together if the user wanted to.

Another request, could a method of locking/unlocking shelves and docks, be introduced. To stop inadvertent alterations. Lately I seem to have developed a knack for messing up the layout of docks when I simply intend to click on an icon. maybe a simple check box on the position and behaviour tab.

Not sure about the grid, but the 'lock icons' setting is already there for next WorkShelf/WSX beta release (later today or tomorrow). It is a global setting though (i.e. it affects all docks and shelves, which I think makes sense).
