Hmmm... Only partial success. I downloaded the Nexus Ultimate beta 17.12.1066. The Mail Checker now appears to connect without error to the AT&T mail server. The "OK Password required." message no longer shows and the Last Checked message shows the date/time correctly. The Response, however, always shows 0 Messages, 0 Bytes, whether there are messages or not. Randy |

Randy, are you sure the messages were not already downloaded into your email client? You do understand how the email checker module works for POP3 accounts, right? |

Hi Jorge, Yes, I'm quite certain. Here is sequence- 1) send email message to AT&T account 2) close email client (Outlook) 3) wait for mail to arrive at POP3 server 3) check for mail with Mail Checker (0 messages) 4) open Outlook 5) download message sent earlier Randy |

Jorge, I can set you up with an account so that you can access that server directly, if that would be of help. Randy |

Randy611 wrote: I can set you up with an account so that you can access that server directly, if that would be of help. Thanks! And, just like that, the issue has been identified and fixed. Turns out what was happening was nothing like I thought initially: usually you get a server response like '+OK' followed by a space and some data (if something goes wrong the server will respond with a '-' instead of '+' sign). AT&T was simply sending the '+' first and the 'OK' after (i.e.; in two separate packets). No idea why, but, then again, I'm not a specialist in email protocols. Since the Email Checker only cared about the '+' sign, it was basically sending the password before the server on the other side was ready to receive it. Now I simply wait for the rest of the data to arrive before sending the password and it works like a charm. Thanks for your help! |

Oops... I have 17.12.1069. I had checked the "Notify for beta versions" earlier and, when it found a newer version the other day, assumed it was another beta. |
