This beta release, among many other things, introduces the new UI (User Interface) to WorkShelf and fixes important compatibility issues with Skype 4.x (32 and 64 bit versions of Windows), Logitech's SetPoint (under 64 bit systems) and the 64 bit versions of Windows.

Image

A complete list of additions, changes and fixes (and there are many) can be found by reading the history files in the C:\Program Files\Winstep folder after installation.

1 - Download the 9.10 beta from

http://www.winstep.net/xtreme-beta.zip

2 - Exit all Winstep applications.

3 - Run XtremeSetup.exe

IMPORTANT: This beta package is an update and MUST be installed ON TOP of a previous Winstep Xtreme 9.5 or later installation!

WorkShelf features incomplete language files based on the Nexus language files. If you would like to help translating the missing entries (about 250 entries of text specific to WorkShelf need to be translated) please say so here or contact Winstep support.

I need feedback on the new UI, usability, bugs, etc, as soon as possible, please...

Enjoy,

Hi Jorge,

the Winstep Translator is a great tool for doing translations!
I would also suggest the following features:

Enhance the Language.ini File with two additional columns while one column is for "Last Edited By" and the second is for differentiating if already translated or not.

Example:

Ok=OK|Jorge|0
while 0 = not translated
|=Spacer

Problem by translating is, that you really don't know, who has translated this line.
Second Problem are the Buttons "Next Untranslated" and "Previous Untranslated" because some Translation is identical to english... thats why a seperate flag should be there.

A good Tool would be, that you can jump to a specific entry like entry 1233 or to jump to the end.

It seems, that if the "Next Untranslated" is selected and i hit repeating the Enter key for going to the End, that the Translater is terminating automatically.

While using the Winstep Translator the keys beside of the Key "DEL": Pos1, End should be disabled. if you hit them by mistake the translation is finished and the translator is moving somewhere... so you have to scroll through the entries manually.

Also a good thing is to search in the translated field. Example: I see in Workshelf the standard tab Documents (which is in german Dokumente). So it seems, that it is not translated... somewehre....
If i use Notepad to search for Documents, you are loosing the overview because of the long lines and i get many hits in the original language. If it is possible to search only in the translated language it is easy to find the record.

Thorsten

Hi Jorge,

Winshelf: there is may be a bug in the main standard tab called Documents.
It seems, that there is no entry in the translation file.

Also for:

In the Tab About
Your %1 year period of free updates has expired on %2 and does not cover this version. You may still try it for........ it is not translated

Tab Advanced
The whole text under Troubleshooting Options

Tab Sounds
Female Voice, Male Voice

Translation to german for all Modules done.

Hi Hessam,

all you need is already on your pc.
The wsTranslator.exe is in your Winstep install dir like C:\Program Files (x86)\Winstep
After starting the program click on File/Open.
You should now see the dir C:\Users\Public\Documents\Winstep\Languages
Here in subdirs the languagesfiles are located with the extention .ini.

Open the file you want to edit.

If there is not already a persian language file you have to copy the English.ini to Persian.ini and edit this persian.ini.

"!#"%# forget to add that text to the language file. However, where are you seing that? It should NOT be on the language file, as far as I know...

I'll be sending you an updated German language file with the missing text entries (there are a couple more related to that one).

It is here...!

Those cannot be translated since the names are based on the actual filename (minus file extension) - just like the WSX themes, which is what they really are, theme sound files.

Hi Jorge,

i guess, that you have to reprorgamm the whole dialog. After the release of a new beta i will check if something is missing.

I'm on the swedish bit. But why not point the translation issues to the appropriate forum? :)

May be it is a nexus bug or a feature?

Nexus is configured to be docked to top and autohide. If autohidden, you don't see anything from the dock.

Now configure nexus to be undocked. Now if autohide is active you still see the dock with one icon, the nexus icon.

Bug or feature?

Thorsten
