cannot get the email checker to connect to my hotmail account, is this a bug or a problem with hotmail?

As of early 2009, Microsoft started offering POP3 support for hotmail accounts. You can read more about this HERE and HERE, however the last comment in the first link says you might need to be a MSN Plus subscriber for it to work.
