Currently Nexus does not have a native Stacks docklet, nor does it support 3rd party docklets.

This said, many people are successfuly using Nexus with Cris'n'Soft stand-alone Stacks application, and native Nexus Stacks support will be added shortly.

Well, I've got some good news, and some bad news.

One of the things that was kind of holding me back from adding a native Stacks docklet to the free version of Nexus from the get-go is that it would greatly reduce the advantage of sub-docks in the Nexus version included with Winstep Xtreme.

With the release of Nexus Ultimate, the ability to have sub-docks became even more critical to separate the free from the paid versions.

What I'm saying, in essence, is that a native Stacks docklet will be added in the next release, yes, but ONLY to the Nexus Ultimate version. I understand that this can upset some of the users of the free version, but I'm also sure they will understand the reasoning behind this. We all need to pay our bills, after all, and if you really like an application so much that you keep on using it, then you should perhaps contribute a bit to its continued development (and get something in return for this contribution).

The free version of Nexus already has features that you can't find in any other dock (free or otherwise!) and new features will keep on being added to it - but a strong incentive to upgrade to Nexus Ultimate or Winstep Xtreme must also exist.

Users of the free version of Nexus can always use Cris'n'Softs stand alone Stacks.

Just bought Ultimate 11.2. Trying to get stacks functionality - specifically click on a folder in a dock and have it show the contents of that folder as a subdock. (i.e. like rocketdock). I realise something like this can be done with shelves - but I would like to do it in a dock. I also see there is a browse facility that can be activated with a right click - but I want something I can just open, see current folder contents and click on what I want to open without opening a permanent window or extra button clicking.

Is this possible and am I missing something?

Have you already tried right clicking somewhere on the dock and selecting 'Insert New Dock Item -> SubDock'?

Nexus Ultimate supports nested sub-docks, which is a way to categorize your programs in the dock - not as spiffy looking as Stacks, but much more functional (you can add to sub-docks anything you can with a dock, including modules, internal commands, etc...).
