Is it possible to use the NextSTART Startmenü but keep the original Taskbar? I'm using the latest Version of Winstep.

If by latested version you mean 10.3, yes it is. There's a setting on the Taskbar tab in Preferences to keep the Windows taskbar visible (which allows you to use BOTH the Windows and the NextSTART taskbar, if that is what you want) and another to prevent NextSTART from replacing the Windows taskbar altogher.

You can then either click on the hotspot button to the desktop menu to access NextSTART or you can change the hotspot activation method into an edge bump.

So it's not possible to click on my startbutton (original taskbar) to see my NextSTART-Menu. Only the Hotspot is showing me the Menu??

(see picture)

Ahhh! And thanks for the picture, that helped me understand what you really wanted, sorry.

What you want is an hotspot which, when clicked on, opens the real Windows Start Menu.

You can either create a new hotspot button or edit the existing one.

To edit the existing one, right click on the Hotspot button (the one with the Windows flag on your screenshot) and select 'Properties' (NOT 'Button Properties') to open the Hotspot Properties dialog. Now change Item Type from 'Menu' to 'Internal Command' and set the Internal Command to 'Start Menu'. Press Ok.

You should now get the Windows Start Menu when you click on the hotspot button instead of the NextSTART menu.

No, sorry...

I want to have the original Taskbar you see on my picture in my last post but want to show my menu from NextStart. Well, on my pic i'm clicking on hotspot to show the NextSTART Menu, but i want this menu when i'm clicking on my "real" Startbutton.

I hope you understand my problem now

(I'm from germany, sorry when my question is not clear)

Ah, so that at the top is your original Windows taskbar skinned with WindowBlinds?

What Windows version are you running? 7 or Vista?

You have a private message, by the way. :D

I was going to suggest that you apply a hotspot to the Windows Start Button, but that would activate BOTH the NextSTART menu and the Windows Start Menu.

How about a work around: you can modify the hotspot that activates the NextSTART menu to fire when you bump a screen corner/edge with the mouse pointer instead. This way you could bump the top left screen corner with your mouse pointer to activate the NextSTART menu, and still be able access your Windows Start Menu by clicking on the Start Button in the Windows taskbar.

Would this be good enough?
