I made an image of old computer (using XP) 1 month prior to its death!
My new computer will have Windows 7 64 bit. The WS backup file (in the image) dates back to 2007.

Are there separate files I could copy to new computer (as opposed to using old backup file) which would restore the latest WS configuration. Or, will I have to start from scratch?

I do have my themes & license saved.

Thanks.

IMO, you would probably be better of if you started from scratch, especially since I don't know if your old system was using the old pre-Vista folder structure or the new one, and many applications will have to be re-installed anyway.

After installing Winstep Xtreme on your new computer, open your My Documents folder, look for the shortcut to the Winstep data folder and copy your backed up Themes folder into it.

I just had to do a restore of Winstep as i had to reinstall Win7.
But now i have this little thing on my screen that looks like a folder,it's blue, I have tried to delete it but it tells me Hot Spot cannot be deleted.
The thing is i did not have it before and do not want it now.
How do i get rid of it ? please

Open NextSTART Preferences, Hotspots tab, select Hotspot 0 and click on the Edit button. In the Hotspots Wizard dialog, change 'How do you want to do it?' from 'Hotspot button on the desktop' to one of the 'Bump Screen Edge/Corner' options.
