Hi all,

Here is a general thought I had this morning.... I was wondering what the status of the WSX themeing community is? I recall there were great themers like jtfolden, essorant and treetog (along with many others) back in the day (think skinz.org and the original wincustomize). With the advent or WSX, does anyone know who will be skinning? I am hoping, once WSX is semi-finalized to get my feet wet in this area, so don't think I am going to be mooching off others forever!

Of course there are great skinners now, scarebear, mcackerson, vectornut etc... whose efforts I 110% appreciate!

Thanks for the mention I know I'll be skinning Xtreme. I have two unfinished themes that I really need to find time to complete. I just have so many things going on at once right now

I would love to see new themes from Essorant, Treetog and Valhalla though as I always loved the themes they created.

I know I'll definitely be doing some ports, as well as updating some of my old themes. But I don't have a lot of TIME to do it right now, so the themes won't be flying out of here at a rate of 3 per hour or anything like that.

I thought I'd try to come up with something to really show off the new transparency features. How's this look? Is it worth pursuing?

I'm wondering if anybody would be interested in testing the skin I've been ever-so-slowly building? I'm having a few issues getting things to line up correctly and would like to know if it's just my system. The skin so far is just the WorkShelf modules and a standard bottom-sitting startbar plus menu. I will eventually build a horizontal menu and side sitting startbar

It's only for Xtreme users as I have not created any BMP images.

And, huh, I noticed that you weren't a member of the Registered Users group and just added you to it. Did I do wrong? I'm asking because I saw a post from you in the Beta Discussion Forum already, so I'm not sure if you excluded yourself in the mean time or what happened...

I'm not even sure what the Registered Users group is. I didn't intentionally exclude myself though.

I have been keeping an eye on the latest betas and have downloaded them. I haven't been through all of the threads though due to being too busy locally I'll go through them soon

Ok, simple: one of the forums here is the 'Beta Software Discussion' forum. Access to it is restricted to registered Winstep users (i.e.; users who registered NextSTART, WorkShelf, Winstep Full Pak or Winstep Xtreme). If you are not part of this group, you get an 'Access Denied' message when you try to read the 'Beta Software Discussion' forum.

Registered Winstep Users can access this forum, but the process is not automatic, i.e.; it is not enough placing an order for one of the Winstep products. To access the 'Beta Software Discussion' forum you must also:

1) Register a username with the Winstep forums if you haven't done so already.
2) Make sure you are logged in.
3) Click on Usergroups at the top of the page (right under where it says 'Winstep's Forums for the Skinning Community').
4) Select the 'Registered User' usergroup if it isn't selected already.
5) Click on the 'View Information' button.
6) Click on the 'Join' button at the top of the new page.
7) Wait for a confirmation email. Users are manually accepted into this group, so be patient because this might take some time.

The advantage of joining the 'Registered Users' usergroup, besides having access to the 'Beta Software Discussion' forum, is that you also get to know about - and try - private beta releases well in advance of them being made available to the public in general.
