When creating an item that points to a UNC path, the response is extremely slow when typing in the UNC in the Filename: dialog box.

ie.. Filename: \\uncpath\sharename. As soon as you type the \\ keystrokes are very delayed.

Note: Object Dock from SD does the same thing.

I guess that would be because file paths use Window's AutoComplete feature to help you find targets faster when manually typing their pathname. When you use the UNC path, Windows starts searching over the network and things slow down.
