Jorge,

While working with SMOP, I accidentally deleted a category and hit Apply. The only available solution? Restore an old backup. While this re-established the deleted category, it also canceled out other entries added since the backup date (several months old). Everything I gained and organized since that date was lost.

In essence, this highlights a severe, yet avoidable, limitation: permanent loss of start menu items due to user error. I think two solutions would make this program that much better:

1. An option to scan for programs/folders not already recognized by listed in within SMOP and add them to the Uncategorized Start Menu Items column.
2. A check upon open by SMOP to prompt a backup after a set period of time (say 30 days) or a user-established period of time.

Having both of these options available would have saved me (and others, I'm sure) a ton of time and needless pain, and make a good program that much better.

Thoughts?

Cheers!

Chuck

No help to Chuck, but under limitations...

Only used SMOP today for the first time - I'm a power user, I don't need this sort of program :). But it does make things really, really easy. It would be nice if I could right-click & rename the shortcuts within SMOP, rather than just the categories.

Regards,

Pete

You both have great ideas, would be nice to see them in a future release.

I haven't said anything as I'm very busy now with the next releases of Nexus and Xtreme, and there really isn't much to say other than 'thanks for the suggestions', but I'm reading this.
