I looked at all the FAQs and went thru the menus and the forums but I didn't see this option.

Is it possible to open sub-docks just on mouse-over :?:

Thanks in advance

(got Nexus Ultimate from giveaway of the Day, saw the update price for WinSTEP Xtreme and purchased it before the bits were even settled on the G.O.D download!)

PS
Jorge, I was the one that mentioned using PowerPro in that other customization forum you hang out in! :D

Heyah! :-)

No, you currently cannot open sub-docks on mouseover, but that's a feature that makes sense, so expect it to be implemented as an option in a future release. :-)

WOW! 4 minutes!

Thanks for the swift reply. I can wait.

I'll finish going thru the old 9.5 guides while waiting for the new ones.

I still have to examine the menuing part of NextSTART so I can replace my old Right Click menus that don't work right on 64 bit Win7 and see if I still need PowerPro menus. I will still need it for macros, alarms/reminders and hotkeys.

Maybe someday WinSTEP will do some of that?

Awesome programs Jorge! I had downloaded the newest trial version from your link on that other forum but hadn't even installed it before G.O.D. had the Nexus Ultimate. (my other half is using that now)
I spent WAY too much time dowloading all the themes I saw there and seeing which ones I liked. (I love being able to delete the ones I don't right from the program!)

Time to make some menus!

Question for you:

In your opinion, should the setting to automatically open sub-docks on mouseover be a 'per dock' or 'global' setting (i.e.; one setting applies to all docks)?

I'd say global, with a time-out (1 to 3 seconds before it folds open, by default and user configurable). Sometimes I'm just browsing through the icons to see what I want to play or so and it's not always convenient when the sub-dock opens directly when my mouse hovers over it ;)

Though on second thought you might perhaps want to offer an override... For the users that want to change everything into the tiny details...

I wouldn't mind global with a selectable delay but, as Kutagh said, some users will want it per dock.

I have only used Nexus for a couple of weeks (Although I must have used this before, as I found an old WinSTEP Fullpack entry in my password keeper from PC Plus magazine) and I only have one dock (with eight sub-docks!)

Also, would it be possible to have a way to type in the numbers for sizes, delays and such as well as the sliders? I have a hard time getting it to land exactly on some numbers like Icon Size. Maybe double clicking the slider brings up a text entry box? :)

I think per dock with an option to make it a global setting.

I think per dock with an option to make it a global setting.

In that case I'd prefer to have a global setting which you can override per dock.

Fair enough! :)

I've made the setting per-dock, and added a mouse over delay (i.e.; how long you must hover the same icon before the sub-dock pops open) which is global.

Also added a 'Sub-docks' button to the Position & Behavior tab of each dock's Properties panel that has all the sub-dock related settings.

Thanks everyone for the input. :D

I am glad you decided to do it per dock, as I read the above posts, I wanted to hurry and give my input before it was too late. Even though, it is too late for my input, the results are good, so that is a nice bit of news. Can't wait to try out the new version.
