When I try to run a program from the Workshelf or the Nexus dock as administrator I get an error that says "the specified procedure could not be found."

If I run the workshelf as administrator the error stops but I can't drag and drop from explorer etc.

Is there a work around? I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and the Winstep 10.6.

Thanks,

Never heard of this problem before. I'm also running Win7 x64 and I don't have that problem (I get the UAC prompt and the program runs).

There are two ways to run a program with Admin privileges: one is by right-clicking on the item and selecting 'Run As Administrator', another is by checking the 'Run As Administrator' checkbox in the Item's Dock or Shelf Properties dialog.

Which method are you using? What if you try the other method?

Also, are you running Winstep in some kind of compatibility mode? Did you make changes to the UAC settings? Just grabbing at straws, here.

I have tried it both ways with the same results.

I am not running it compatibility mode.

Now that I am thinking about it, it may have been some changes I made awhile back while trying to get some programs to run as administrator on start up. I finally found that I had to run them under task scheduler to start on log in. I may have changed something else previous to this though. I would make sense.

I will post back when I have this figured out. In the meantime if anyone has any idea's, the help would be appreciated.

Thanks

When you were trying to fix the other program, did you make any changes to directory User permissions? Might want to make sure you didn't accidently knock Admin off of one/some of them. Unfortunately I have no idea how Win7 deals with those, but if you've changed them then you probably do :) .

I hadn't posted back yet but I solved it earlier this morning. You guessed really close. For some reason there were some deny permissions set for Everyone; such as traverse folders, read etc on the Start Menu. These permission of course contradicted the allow permissions. Removing the deny fixed it. I have no idea how they got set. I am pretty sure I didn't set them.
