Is there a setting for turning off this icon bounce on application/file launch in the shelf? I want to turn it off, anything I ever had with bouncing icons got them turned off. I found it in the dock settings, but not the shelf settings.

Thanks.

Actually the launched icon doesn't 'bounce' in the Shelf, it will simply repeat whatever mouse over effect is currently selected for the dock 2 times. No way to turn that off for now.

Oh, I see.
It would be cool if the ability to choose the launch effect separately from the mouseover effect was added for both the dock and the shelf. Zoom on mouseover & Magic on launch for example, such possibilities. Just a thought.

That will eventually be implemented, along with selecting the 'Attention' effect. :D

Jorge,
Although the new effect of "Magnify along with another effect" is cool, it really wasn't what I asked for in the first place. What I had envisioned was to have the 'Magnify' and then apply the 'Wind' or 'Fire' effect when the icon was selected(clicked). Is that do-able(Like when you remove an item from the dock and it goes up in flames)?

Thanks,
Grouch

Doable, and next on the to-do list (click effects other than just the default 'bounce').

Something else in the to-do list for eye-candy features is different opening effects for sub-docks.
