Jorge,
What I thought would be cool is to be able to apply an additional effect on selection. I love the 'Magnify' effect(3 icons wide), but would like to apply some other effect(like 'Wind' or 'Fire') when I make my selection. Would anyone else think it would be cool?

Is something like that do-able?

Thanks,
Grouch

IIRC Jorge was thinking about this in the beta. His issue with it is that low-end PC's will have trouble with rendering multiple effects at the same time without being a reasonable to huge drain on system resources (if I'm correct, that is).

Still it would be nice and Jorge could always put a warning there: "Using multiple effects at the same time can be heavy on your system".

I'm still thinking about this, as I would love to see it too.

I didn't implement it yet because it's not as simple as it sounds: a lot of 'tricks' are used to increase the performance of the magnify effect, so mixing that effect with others will be a little complex.

Jorge,
Have you given this any further thought?

Thanks,
Grouch

Jorge,
Yup, I missed that one. Will the next release also resolve the issue of the icon getting cropped when you 'bounce when launching'?

See: http://forums.winstep.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4115

Thanks,
Grouch

Yes, and does more than that too: the bounce on launch animation has been much improved.

No, but it can make toast for you in the morning.

A great deal of work has also gone into re-organizing and simplifying the Preferences UI (especially in the free version of Nexus). Plus you can now set separate vertical and horizontal icon spacings, as well as individual background and icon transparency levels, for docks (complete with preview and all).

Never ask that question. Just... don't. :D

The answer can only be "it will be ready when it's ready".

This said, we should have a private beta for registered Winstep users soon.

I can't wait for the beta.
On another note; how's the theme designer progressing?
