I've searched the forums and the internet to try to find out if stacks docklets are supported yet. From what i've found it was supposed to be implemented after the new UI was created, but i don't think stacks has made it into any Winstep products, right?

I would like to purchase Winstep Xtreme but the only thing preventing me from doing so is the lack of a "fan" stacks doclet.

I'v read that stacks docklets are coming soon. If i buy Xtreme now will i have to pay for an upgrade to get stacks? Will stacks have "fan" options?

Thanks, sorry if i missed the answers in my search...

When purchasing any product of Winstep, you're entitled to a year of free updates. After that year is elapsed you either can extend it with another year or stick with the version you currently got. Currently the Winstep Xtreme package is the full package. Nexus Ultimate features the docks/shelfs part of Winstep Xtreme and stacks are quite likely to get implemented in Nexus Ultimate as well. (don't quote me on this though, I'm not in the team whatsoever aside from helping out at the forum ;) )

It seems to me that the fan stack functionality is the same as that currently provided by the available subdocks: what is missing is the grid stack, but as we discussed in another topic here it might be enough to use subdocks parallel to the main dock instead of perpendicular, as in a fan stack.

Yes the functionality is the same but the fan effect is MUCH cooler! :)

I think i'll just get the Nexus dock pay version because i only use the workshelf anyways. Then if xtreme gets fan effects i'll upgrade.
