Hi there,

I've started my own NeXuS theme. From what I've noticed so far, NeXuS themes live in the WinStep/NeXuS/Backgrounds folder. If I'd like to make matching modules for the clock and recycle bin would they reside in the WinStep/Themes folder? And if so, should the NeXuS dock reside in that same location and be built as a WinStep theme instead of just a NeXuS theme?

Excuse my ignorance. It's been quite a while for me and things have changed :)

I gave up on the modules. Anybody with a full version care to let me know if I missed anything here?

Not really. Those are 3rd party dock themes (Nexus is compatible with themes for all 3rd party docks, but non-native themes are stored on a different location of native themes). Native Nexus dock themes live in the Winstep/Themes folder.

Anyway, native Winstep themes are currently on stand-by, waiting for the completion of the new Winstep Themes Designer application. Webgizmos, for instance, does his themes working on parallel with an older version of Xtreme (v9.5), the last version with a GUI for making Winstep themes in the actual applications.

If I got most of that—and my head makes me think I may not have—then I'll wait until there's better support for user-generated themes before I attempt to share this anywhere.

If you are using the RocketDock/ObjectDock INI file manual method to make dock backgrounds, you can share them at will, no worries. Nexus will automatically recognize 3rd party dock themes and place them at their proper location - to the user, there is no difference, as 3rd party dock themes and native Nexus themes appear merged in the Themes list.

The main difference is that native Nexus themes allow you to skin the in-dock modules (clock, recycler, etc...) and provide a wallpaper.

Hi Jorge

I too am trying to skin nexus. I wondered if it is possible to skin the arrow for the subdocks and also the system tray expand button.

Just a suggestion. I find it very difficult to see the pale blue text on white in this forum web page. I strain to look through the topics list.

cheers
