All this time, I've used Nexus Ultimate on Windows 7 Home 32-bit. The last two days, I've installed it on two PCs running Windows 7 64-bit, one Ultimate and one Corporate edition.
The situation is this: on all three PCs, I'm using HyperDesk (Star Trek TOS), so my entire UI is skinned, along with a lot of the system icons. Among the icons that have been replaced with HyperDesk icons, are the drive icons in "My Computer".
The problem now: I have a shelf on top, containing the drives. Nexus on 32-bit Windows, uses the correct (HyperDesk) skinned icons. Nexus on 64-bit, however, uses the default (Windows) not skinned icons. I can get a screenshot for you to show the difference.
Can you explain that difference? Is it because HyperDesk has native 32-bit and 64-bit versions, while Nexus is only 32-bit? I'd really want to see Nexus work properly on 64-bits too.
Thanks.

Hmmm... Seems to me that it is because of the automatic Windows Registry redirection for 32 bit applications on 64 bit systems.

I'll look into it.

Ok, here's some screenshots.
Actually, I can't believe how quickly you replied. I hope you can figure out what's the matter. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

This is 32-bit, skin propagates to shelf nicely.

This is 64-bit, skin works, but shelf uses plain ugly Windows icons.

Yes, I know what the problem is, but thanks for the screenshots anyway. :D

Already made a change that should fix the issue on 64 bit versions of Windows. If you are a registered Nexus Ultimate user and you haven't yet, apply for access to the Beta Software Discussion part of the forums - new beta with this particular fix should be available soon for testing.

Actually, I'm not a registered user, I'm just using the trial period still.

By the way, that (on the screenshots) is the customised theme I've created for Nexus based on HyperDesk Star Trek TOS (adapted from Atmospherica). See how well it goes with the rest of the skin? :D

What I'm waiting for? The 64-bit fix, for one. Then, check the wishlist entries I made, note wish numbers 1, 2, 3, 5, (int)lostcount. :P

Enough? Enough?
Let me ask you this, mate... do you like James Bond?

Image
(that's my answer) :D

P.S. That's the human condition, mate. Men always take their current state and condition as the basis for any comparison, therefore they always want something more than what they already have.
Me too... ;) :P

Fifth, and perhaps most important, update the drives more frequently than "on show". See, if I connect a drive while the shelf is open, the new drive does not show. I have to let the shelf hide and then show it again, to see the new drive. It would be better if it just showed (and disappeared on disconnection) on-the-fly.

You'll be glad to know that, from the next release onwards, the Drives (My Computer) Shelf tab will automatically refresh whenever drives are added to or removed from the system.

I got chills... they're multiplyin'...

So gluttony can be useful sometimes, can't it? :P

Hope that's not contagious.

The case in point has nothing to do with it, it is a perfectly reasonably, logical and generaly useful request. :D

Oh, I have a singular wit for logic and reason. If you think about it, everything I say is reasonable, logical and useful, in one way or another.
[much like this post] :P
