Hi Jorge. I'm going to post a video to illustrate this issue. I've been trying for quite some time to figure out a way to make the Recycle Bin Module work together with the other Modules but could never do it.

It only works together as you will see when the Desktop Background is showing. I also have to bump twice while a browser or folder is open and have to bump the bottom (Dock) or top (WorkShelf) to bring it to the foreground.

The Dock on the left works fine when a browser or folder is open, (didn't show it in the video since it isn't a real issue for me) but doesn't hide when the Desktop Background is showing. Is it supposed to work the way it does in the video?

Love the video.

Are you sure the Recycle Bin desktop module is not set to 'Always on Bottom'?

Thanks! Couldn't make the Desktop, Modules etc. look so cool without a great program!

I checked and don't think I have it set that way. Can you tell me specifically what areas to check to make sure I didn't miss something?

If you like, I can post the settings for you so you can double-check them.

Open WorkShelf Preferences, go to the Modules tab. Now select the Recycler module. Click the Advanced button. In the dialog box that pops up, what does it say under 'Keep the module always above other windows'?

I just noticed the pull-down area I have circled in red has another option that says Recycler which matches what's above it. Does this have a bearing on anything?

As you can see, I have it set to Same as other windows.

Ok, in that case let me check if there is a problem (read: bug) specific to the Recycle Bin module. Will get back to you later.

Hi Jorge. Is the fix been taken care of in a new update, or is it going to be in the next release?

Hey Windy, glad you reminded me of this.

First: you're using a NextSTART hotspot to activate the Show/Hide Desktop Modules Internal Command via a edge bump, aren't you?

I just tried it here (v11.5) and it seems to work as it should - if my assumption above is correct, it could be that assigning the same edge bump to activate the modules is interfering with the Show/Hide Desktop Modules hotspot. Try setting the activation method to 'None' for each of the Desktop modules.

The hard drive on my laptop was failing hence the reason I had to do a System Recovery every few months for the past year or so. It finally died and I was without one for several weeks.
I was finally able to get a new Windows 7 PC and have been reinstalling for the past couple of days. Unfortunately, I'm still having the same issue. I left the setting to None and it didn't help. Jorge, you stated that you're using Version 11.5 and it works fine. This is the version that is currently installed and the prompt states that it is fully updated. I'm stumped.

BTW, please check your Inbox. I'm going to send you a PM.

There's a Beta Discussion Forum section on this forum, in case you didn't notice.

You're not seeing v11.5 on the Winstep Update Manager because it's still a private beta currently available to register Winstep users only, and hasn't been officially release yet. To be able to try out the new goodies in private betas before everyone else, you must be a registered Winstep user (which you are) *and* apply for access to the Beta Discussion section of the forums (which you didn't).

Anyway, I've given you access to the Beta Discussion section so you can download v11.5 and try it out to see if it fixes this issue. :D

You still haven't answered my question yet, though (just want to make sure): you're using a NextSTART hotspot to Show/Hide the desktop modules, right?

That's correct. I'm using a NextSTART hotspot to Show/Hide the desktop modules. That's the only way it will work as far as I know. I tried not using it and using just the settings in Preferences via right-clicking the Nexus symbol on my Dock, but it didn't work.

Update: Just installed Beta but still no luck. :(

Hi Jorge, this problem has been driving me nuts especially since you've stated that it works for you.

I decided to get to the bottom of it by unchecking Show/Hide Desktop Modules in NextSTART to see what happens.

I then verified the settings in Nexus Preferences.

However, after doing so, I bumped the screen edge and instead of the Recycle Bin module showing and hiding, it opened the Recycle Bin (folder).

Is this normal, or is this the key to the problem I'm having?

Right click on all the Recycle Bin modules you have on docks and on 'regular' tabs of the Shelf, select 'Dock Entry Properties' or 'Shelf Entry Properties' and see if one of them has an associated hot key. That would explain the problem, I guess.
