Do/can winstep and object desktop coexist?
If so why would you have both?

Yes they can.

While there is some overlap between Winstep applications and Object Desktop (I assume that is what you mean and not Object Dock), mostly they complement each other nicely (for instance, WindowBlinds and Winstep Xtreme/Nexus).

Where they do overlap (e.g. Nexus vs ObjectDock), Winstep and Stardock applications have each different strengths and weaknesses. Download the trials and figure out for yourself which offers more to you.
