Hello, I'm using Nexus Free on Vista and am wondering where the themes, icons, etc. are stored. I checked out the Winstep directory but didn't see anything that might be it.

Also, on an another question, does anyone know what the path (you know, C:\xxx) the Start Menu module uses to point to, um, to do the stuff it does. (aw snap, I don't know the right words.)

Let's see, for example:

To get the Firefox shortcut to run, you type in C:\program files\mozilla firefox\firefox.exe. what kind of file path would the Start Menu use.

 Thanks

EDIT: (same day) OK, I found out where the themes, etc. are located. And to think, all I had to do was open my eyes. I would still like to know about the second question, though.

The Windows Start Menu is not an application you can 'call' or 'run'. Nexus invokes the Windows Start Menu, for instance, by simulating the user pressing the WIN key.

Hmm, is it easy to tell how to do that, or do you need to know how to code? (Or is it one of those secrets that once told, I would have to be killed? )

I'm sorry, but what exactly are you trying/want to do?

The place where Winstep stores themes, icons and all the stuff is placed in:
C:\Users\Public\Documents
You can also find a shortcut in your documents folder.

The start menu "file paths" you're referring to are not even so complicated... They are only some shortcuts put in:
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu
Where UserName is your user account name.
You could have find this by just opening the start menu and right-click > Open on a folder in the programs list.

I'm not sure if in your last message (katmandan) you wanted some code or just.. dunno..

Do you want to have an action that opens the Start Menu? If so, you need to associate a hotspot or so with the internal command "Start Menu" and associate that hotspot (or whatever) with the action you want to do. Obviously this only works with Nexus.
