I was trying to run sfc /scannow with a command prompt and it would say "Windows resource protection could not start the repair service". I booted into safe mode, and it worked fine. I booted back into windows noemal mode, and decided to start shutting down programs to see which one was causing the problem, and it was Nextstart.

Any ideas? This is Win 7 64, and running version 11.2.

Where are you launching the Command Prompt from? NextSTART or the real Windows Start Menu? Is it the 32 bit or the 64 bit version?

I am launching it from my shelf.

That's probably where the issue lies: the Shelf is a 32 bit application and will thus launch the 32 bit version of CMD.exe. The 32 bit Command Prompt is then unable to launch the 64 bit version of SFC.

The Windows 32 bit automatic file system re-direction in 64 bit systems works most of the time, but it's also a bit of a kludge.

Try launching CMD from the Windows Start Menu (press the WIN key).
