Just installed winstep. Liking it so far, but one issue I'm annoyed with:

I have my browser icons, and heavily used program icons on my taskbar.
When i click one of them, it creates a new instance of the icon on the taskbar instead of just highlighting the icon I've selected.

For example, when i click my firefox icon, that icon does not highlight, but another firefox icon appears and highlights at the end of my icon list on the taskbar.

Can I change this? Screenshot attached.

Not currently. The funny thing is that Windows was like that for many years (windows oriented instead of application oriented like Apple's Mac OS) and nobody complained.

Try removing FireFox (and perhaps most of the other shortcuts) from the QuickLaunch section of the NextSTART taskbar and putting it in a dock. You can also reduce the size of the Quick Launch icons so they don't use so much space in the taskbar.

Note that the Quick Launch section of the taskbar can also be used to access NextSTART menus and Internal Commands, not just applications.

Thanks.
I'll give it a try.
