I use Gmail. It setup like this:

pop.gmail.com
Port: 995
note: micuenta@gmail.com
password:**********

Requires SSL: ok

Why not? What I can do?

A) Unfortunately the Email Checker uses the SSL v2 encryption protocol, which was found to have some vulnerabilities in early 2010 and therefore is no longer supported by Gmail, Hotmail or Yahoo. There is currently no estimated date for adoption of the SSL v3 protocol by the Email Checker module.

The upcoming v11.5 release has removed the SSL option so users don't get frustrated trying to get it to work.
