Hello,

I'm encountering blank icons on the taskbar when group similar is enabled. It only affects icons that are grouped. Those without multiple windows are fine. Additionally, if group similar is disabled, the icons also appear as they should.

I did some searching on the forum and found out about a "blank icon bug", but as this is Windows 7 and not Vista, I don't know that this is the same, but please let me know if I'm wrong on that count.

Thanks,

Greg

You are using or previously used Stardock's IconPackager, no?

Open the Windows Registry Editor, go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shellex and see if the subkey 'IconHandler' exists. If it does, delete it then reboot. Let me know, please.

Nah, after the n'th report complaining about the same issue, initially blaming the Winstep software itself, one kind of wises up.

Stardock is very much aware of this issue, but apparently they are doing nothing to fix it. I can only imagine how many users simply uninstall Nexus or Xtreme because of this, thinking it's buggy, without even saying a word.

So I think I will have to take matters on my own hands regarding this one and start pro-actively pointing the finger at the actual culprit. :P
