I have some suggestions for you Jorge that I think you should consider (but keep in mind, they're still suggestions!).
To me, you should change the way we customize the icons and the settings by making a unique applications center that is the same for all winstep applications.

We actually have a window for customizing the icons, another window for the settings... but the most annoying is the first one where you have to right-click on each icon and select properties ect to personalize it, and this for each Winstep application...

So.. the idea!
First I think you should make a tab in the preferences where to allow shortcuts customization; by this it will be faster to get to multiple icon properties without having to do a lot of times right-click > personalize icon ect (I think at a list with all the shortcuts and when selecting them on the right there appears the icon settings).
Second: why not using a unique customization for all the winstep applications?
I noticed for example that the shelf and the dock, even if they contain the very same item, they are actually different items with their own settings where changing one's settings wouldn't affect the other. But to me one would love to see the same icon in all the winstep applications without having to customize the icon in each of them. So a single customization to refer to for all Winstep's applications would be great. I don't know how you've coded the winstep applications, but if I'm right I think that this would also allow you to use less RAM for your applications (different items >> different referenced memory >> much memory used; same items >> Same referenced memory >> less memory used).

Before ending this I also have to tell you that I still don't agree with the decision to allow icons customization by drag&drop images over the shortcuts. Would you be so kind to make this an optional feature? I'd like to open the image with the program in the shortcut when dragging an image over it, and I'm not customizing the dock every day, so fast customization by D&D image is not needed in this case - I think that even other people would like it this way.

p.s. I'd like to know from the others what they think about this, just to know if I'm the only one thinking like this, and to help Jorge deciding if it's worth considering my suggestions or keeping the Winstep applications the way they are.

i can see a master pref tab for icons on the nexus dock, but not for the workshelf or nextstart. nexus is mainly for programs and folders that you use most often, and since it's probably the most used component of winstep i thank it would save a lot of time being able to go to preferences, shortcut settings(or something like that) and make all my changes at once. as for having say the firefox icon changed on the desktop shelf if i change it on nexus i say no. in my opinion workshelf is the workhorse of the suite, it being a explorer replacement. with as many tabs as a person can have workshelf is already doing a lot of refreshing whenever you use it. adding one more thing for it to refresh is too much. as for being able to drag xyz.html to firefox on nexus and have it open would be nice, but for a single file it's more of a toy. my suggestion would be to see if it's possible to say drag xyz.html, abc.html, ouo.html, etc. to the nexus firefox icon and they each open in their own tab.

Actually, if you drag multiple files over a program they will all open as the program is set to open them; as for firefox, all the pages you'll drag on it will open in their tabs/windows (depending on settings).

Also, I didn't mean to constantly check for the icon on the desktop so to update the icon in the Dock and other programs; I meant that the preferences I set for an icon in the Dock (so the PNG icon, path ect.) to be set the same in all the winstep applications for the same shortcut. So if for example I have in the Dock and Shlef a shortcut to Firefox, and change I make to the firefox shortcut should affect both the Dock and Shelf shortcut of Firefox. In terms of customization (mainly) if I change the icon of Firefox in the Shelf this change should reflect on the Firefox shortcut on the Dock (and vice-versa).

Sometimes what seems like a good idea on paper turns out to be an awful idea in practice, sorry to say.

For instance, replacing *all* 'Firefox' icons in Winstep Xtreme by changing only *one* of the icons, besides being a lot of work to implement correctly with very little in return, would immediately conflict with those who might actually want *different* icons for each of their Firefox shortcuts (for instance, because each shortcut has different arguments and thus performs different things).

The fact that you can quickly customize the image used to display any shortcut on docks, Shelf, etc..., by simply dropping a PNG or ICO file over it also means you wouldn't gain much by implementing something like that. Imagining you have 3 different FF shortcuts in the docks and Shelf, how hard is it to simply drag and drop the same PNG image from Explorer to each of those three different shortcuts? Come on, 10 seconds later you're done. :D

I will agree with Jorge. Let's not lose focus here. Nexus and Xtreme are products whose usage/customisation temporal ratio has to be nearing infinity.
For those who just didn't get it, I mean, the time you spend using it is hugely more than the time you spend configuring and/or customising it.
So, let's leave Jorge focus on things that will actually make a difference in the *usage* front (like new modules or new features), rather than things that you'll only do once and then forget about it.
