Problems with Nextstart

Hi there,

I am new to this forum and would like to report a problem and ask a question concerning Nextstart. I like the new start menu very much, but I have two major concerns. First of all I have to mention that I am using the German version of Windows 7 64 bit (hardware is not limiting and top notch). Therefore, the menu items I mention below may have a slightly different name in the English version.

1. Every time I hover my mouse over "network" (also in the working place submenu) or "link to network", Nextstart crashes and has to be terminated. (Unfortunately, the Windows task bar and start menu are also gone)

2. I am missing the menu item "search programs/files" from the Windows 7 start menu. Did I just miss it or is it missing in Nextstart?

I would be grateful for any help! Thank you in advance!

1. You mean in the NextSTART menu or in the system tray/notification area?

2. Unfortunately that functionality is missing (for now). As a work-around, you can always press the WIN key to summmon the real Windows Start Menu and search from there.

thank you very much for your answer.

1. I meant the start menu. In the system tray/notofocation area I do not have access to my network. As a workaround, I deleted the network and computer links in the start menu.

2. This is a pity, and I hope it will be possible to add this function in a later version.

let me have a look through my files downloaded in the last month. i have a search shortcut program. all you do is place it where you want it, create a shortcut on the desktop, and drag it to where you want it on the nextstart menu. i posted here a week or more back for someone else. do a search you should find it.
