I'm currently working on the NextSTART - TaskBar. My mission is to adding a folder, category, to the NextSTART - TaskBar. I have two issues.
1. I have been able to add the program but I still need to know how to add a folder.
`Since I'm new - when referencing a directory which is preferred on this forum folder or category.

2. I came across "icon customization list" and I'm not sure to the benefit. It seems like I would go through my programs that I don't necessarily want to appear on the TaskBar and added to this list. But you mention "Here you can select which icons to display in the list of running programs". So if I'm running six programs and I want only three to appear I would add them to the list. I must be missing the point here. Please help.

Bob

Just drag the folder you want from an Explorer window and drop it into the 'Quick Launch' section of the NextSTART taskbar.

You mean the 'Customize Task Icons' list?

This allows you to change the icon displayed in the taskbar for a running program. You see, in previous Windows versions the icon used in the taskbar was provided by the actual window (under Windows 7 the icon used to display a running application is the *application* icon), and this icon was usually 16x16 pixels in size (remember Windows XP? The icons in taskbar buttons were always 16x16 icons).

Because the NextSTART taskbar was always able to display taskbar icons in sizes larger than this, the small 16x16 icon would end up being enlarged, which made it look blurry and/or bulky. To compensate for this, the user could make NextSTART replace the original icons with larger, high resolution, icons of his choice.

As for the Task Exclusion list, it does what it says: it prevents some applications - or specific windows from an application - from appearing in the tasklist, even if they are currently running. This allows you to do things such as prevent an application that is always running in your system (and always accessible) from taking up space in the tasklist.
