For some reason my startbar is two rows high and I cannot seem to make it smaller via using that double arrow thing. This occurs on all themes.

Oh, and I'd also like to know how to restore to defaults, since I tried following the instructions in the FAQ and it didn't seem to work.

If your startbar is always two rows high, it's because something in it requires it to be AT LEAST two rows high.

Check out the icon size of your Quick Launch section and the icon size of the taskbar section. The Quick Launch section icon size should be set to 'auto'. Also, if you are capturing WorkShelf modules into the startbar, be aware that the startbar will always be as high as required to fit the captured modules.

To restore the defaults: when NextSTART runs for the first time, it creates a backup file with the default settings. Open NextSTART Preferences and navigate to the Global Settings tab. Now click on the Restore button and select the only file that should be displayed.
