I have a dual monitor setup, my main screen is on the right and it spreads left onto screen two.

When I create Hotspots, I select an area on my main screen and save but Nextstart insists on putting the hotspot in the same relative place on my left hand screen.

How do I make Nextstart put the Hotspots on my main screen (the one on the right)

I've never had dual monitors and therefore don't claim to know anything about using one, especially with this sort of problem. I was waiting to see if someone with more experience or Jorge could give you the solution.

This may seem a bit simple-minded, but did you try to disconnect the left monitor? You should then clear the Hotspot settings and then reset them with only the right monitor plugged in. Maybe then it will only lock onto the right one and won't inject itself onto the left one once you plug it back in.

Let me know if it works.

Hi,

thanks for the suggestion.

If I turn off the left hand screen, then create a new hotspot on the right hand screen (monitor 1), the hotspot works as expected.

As soon as I reintroduce a second screen, the hotspot switches to the left-most screen, screen 2, and no longer works on the original screen.

Worth a try though.

i don't know if this will work but you can try changing the default monitor in windows. now i know if it works you may have to reassign some programs to the monitor you want them on.

I looked at the code and this seems to be related to how Windows now handles the Desktop in multiple monitors, which apparently changed since most of the code related to hotspots was added to the application, and I didn't notice.

Hotspots use windows client based coordinates, not absolute coordinates. This allows you to associate an hotspot to a specific window, move it around, and the hotspot will still activate when you click on the same spot of that window.

The problem is that the extended Desktop is now made of multiple Worker_w windows, one per screen, instead of a single window covering the whole desktop area. What this means in practice is that the hotspot should be 'cloned' in each of your screens - however, that is not what you are describing, right?

No, when the desktop is spread across two screens the only hotspot is showing on the left most screen, not on the main screen. When the second monitor is deactivated, the hotspot goes back to the main screen.
This happens even though the hotspot is selected on the main screen.

What are the displayed coordinates for the hotspot area? Also, what name appears in 'what is the title of the window you want to apply this hotspot to'? Are you selecting the hotspot area with the Select Area button?

Hotspot is

Horizontal 24 299
Vertical 254 696

selected with the Select Area button.

title of the Window is 'Program Manager' selected by dragging the magnifying glass onto the main monitors' screen desktop
