I found some suggestions on other ways to activate a dock, but didn't see this one. I'd to be able to bump the edge of the screen but also require a left mouse click to activate it. I accidentally bump the screen too often, don't want to limit myself to a corner, and don't want an extra CTRL key or similar. Would it be possible to require a click on edge of the screen to activate my dock? Thanks.

Not exactly. First of all which program are you using? I'm only familiar with Xtreme.

I guess you can get close by activating a left-click near a corner with a hotspot but no bump and click.

I'm using Nexus. Sorry about that. It has the ability to bump the corner instead of the edge which I'm considering. That would help with accidental activation by random mouse movements to the edge. I could also increase the delay for activation, but then it takes longer to activate when I really want it. Bump-click would be ideal for me. It lets me specifically activate it when I want the dock, but doesn't require extra key clicks (e.g. CTRL,ALT,Shift).

Because I didn't know what program you're using and what features are available, I suggested the left-click hotspot action.

Now that I know you have a corner bump available I suggest you use that. The likelihood of accidentally activating the action is next to impossible. I've had Xtreme now for at least a couple of years and to this day I have never accidentally activated any of my corner bumps and I have all four corners set to bump.

Almost forgot, I suggest you not increase the delay. It is absolutely not needed for a corner bump since it's so difficult to accidentally activate it.

FYI, I have all of my bumps set to the fastest (short delay) setting. I like a speedy computer.

I noticed you have bump exactly in the corner to activate the dock. If I bump the edge and then drag the mouse over to the corner, it doesn't activate it. That certainly eliminates the accidental bump, but sometimes I have to bump twice to activate it. Note sure which is the better way yet for me (corner or edge). If I can't have bump-click, it would be nice to have bump-drag-to-corner instead.

The reason you have to sometimes bump twice is the very reason why it's next to impossible to accidentally activate it.

It's a very exacting action unlike a side bump which uses the whole side instead of a tiny spot at the corner.

In other words, if you miss the exact spot it won't activate. The best way to eliminate bumping twice on a corner is, move the cursor very near to the corner and stop, (or at very least pause) then bump the corner. This way, you're more likely to hit the corner in exactly the right spot.

Obviously just like anything else, the further away (from the corner) you are, the more likely you won't be able to be true in your aim.

Try it and let me know if it works.

P.S. Just a little tip. When you bump the corner watch VERY closely at EXACTLY where you're hitting when it activates so the next time you'll eliminate bumping twice. Practice makes perfect! :)
