Hi all..

I bought Winstep extreme basic back in July 2012. I absolutely love it. I didn't renew in 2013 as there were no new versions. I will likely buy a new version when one appears.. But in the meantime...

Winstep was working great for me when I decided to restore my system using an image backup I made in August 2012. As soon as it booted up after that, I got the nag about my registration expiring. I navigated to my XtremeBasic.KEY, clicked and it thanked me for registering. Life goes on..

But, every day, after midnight, I get the nag again. It seems to forget my registration every day.

What am I missing..

yellow first i would NEVER keep images that old. regardless if the image is stable you should do a proper wipe of c at least once a year, and a CLEAN install of everything. you may be having problems properly registering winstep because the image is old enough to be fragmented.

When the nag appears, does it still show as registered at the bottom of the opening Preferences tab? Also, do you reboot your computer everyday?

The nag appeared again today. It shows the software is still registered to me. It says underneath that in red "License key valid for all upgrades released until July 14, 2013" (It's easy to tell because every time i hit the CTRL key for any reason the preferences dialog opens now. hmmm...)

This is a laptop and I usually put it in standby. Maybe reboot once a week or so.

UPDATE:
The control key thing I solved, other weirdness. But I just changed the reminder on the nag to NEVER from remind me in 1 day.. That'll probably solve it.
