Hello. I have just downloaded and installed winstep (trial for now). I must say its pretty amazing. I only have one suggestion, please bare with me. Ok, so before installing winstep I had qtTab and qtAdress bar installed. What happens is that when you group similar tasks in winstep, and open 2 explorer windows lets say, tey are under the same icon, and you can see a preview of the two in a panel that opens up upon hovering the grouped tasks. Well, with qtTab bar active, you can not close the explorer windows from the preview that pops up upon the hover. My only wish is for this problem to be fixed if possible. Hope I have been clear enough. Thank you for your time :)

Ability to auto hide the System Tray without use of the System Tray Control Button.

Bump the edge of the screen with your cursor where the System Tray is positioned?

(Can that be done in Nexus? I didn't find where I can select to show the System Tray in Nexus.)

Are you running the latest WSX private beta (released a couple of days ago in the Beta Forums)? If so, right click on the Nexus control icon and open the Dock Properties panel. Now check the bottom of the Effects tab - you'll find settings there to display the system tray on the dock, partial or all icons.

As for the system tray button, that wouldn't work. Edge bumps are a rare comodity (there are only 4 of them, after all) and a newbie would be stumped if he hit a screen edge by accident and the system tray disappeared.

This said, I know how you can actually pull this off via NextSTART internal commands (ICs). NextSTART currently has two system tray related ICs, 'Show Tray on Taskbar' and 'Show Tray on Desktop'. The first essentially hides the NextSTART systray, while the second shows it.

Those two ICs are still reminiscent from the old way NextSTART handled the system tray, so they are about to be replaced by three commands in the next release, 'Show Systray', 'Hide Systray' and 'Show/Hide Systray'. You'll be able to create a new hotspot attached to the screen edge or corner of your choice and associate it with the 'Show/Hide Systray' IC. You can then bump the screen edge or corner to toggle the system tray in and out of view, which means you won't need the Systray Control Button.

Since there currently is no 'Show/Hide Systray' IC yet, you can do the next best thing: tell the system tray button not to display the time or the date. This will reduce it in size to a small button.

I think there are 3rd party utilities that already do this...

What I meant is that since there are already 3rd party utilities that do this (and apparently do it well), and since so many people are upgrading to Windows 7, coupled with the fact that I already have a ton of other really important features still to add, by the time I would get around to implement a Win7 look-alike Alt-Tab replacement everybody would have upgraded to Windows 7 anyway.

Something I'd really like is to have the Tasklist window previews match the system theme.

Hi there.

I used to use stardock objectdock. I paid for it.

Trying out the FREE version of Nexus dock just makes me sick!

Nexus has MORE FEATURES in the FREE version than paid objectdock 2.0!!! what the hell is wrong with stardock?

Anyway, I am now officially in love with nexus dock. I only have ONE LITTLE REQUEST!

Can we change the systray icons? even have them included in the custom icon replacement task list?

If its already in the paid version or a beta, let me know and ill grab it.

Thanks

-Ash

Glad you finaly tried Nexus to be able to see this for yourself. :D

System tray icon customization is planned for the next release, but will only be available in the paid version (Nexus Ultimate). In fact, here is what's planned for the next release:

1. Windows 7 "superbar" ability with live window previews on mouseover (Free AND Ultimate).
2. Native Stacks Docklet (Ultimate only).
3. System Tray icon customization (Ultimate only).

Ah, you do know that you can display the sytem tray on the dock in one of two modes (single and grouped), right?
