I don't think I ever realized this existed until Jorge posted about it in another thread. I checked it out, and it lists drives C-I and then lists CD Control D (twice), F,G,H, and I.

When I look at the drives my SYSTEM lists, I have 3 hard drives (C, E, and K), a DVD drive (D), and a BD ROM drive (J).

So, my questions are:
1. Why does it list drives I don't have and not list drives I DO have?
2. Why does it list CD Control D: twice?
3. Is there an easy way to fix it?

Now, thinking about it, there is a possible (okay, probable) explanation for #1. I'm pretty sure I upgraded my system hardware (including a new case) since I originally installed NS, and the old system had multiple formats of card reader that each had their own drive letter. So, if NS never rechecks and updates the list to match system configuration changes, this would explain the difference between what it's showing and what my system actually has.

You answered your own question. :)

Because the new CD Control Internal Command (IC) replaced and does the job of the two previous 'Open CD ROM x: Door' and 'Close CD ROM x: Door' ICs.

Since those two ICs were deprecated, the application automatically replaces every instance of those in menus, dock, hotspots and the Shelf with the new CD Control command.

Because the Disk submenu had both an 'Open' and a 'Close' IC, you now get two entries showing 'CD Control'.

To remove a menu entry you can simply right click on it and select 'Remove Menu Entry' from the context menu that pops up.

Unfortunately in v16.3, unlike for Nexus/WorkShelf, I forgot to give NextSTART the ability to change the drive the 'CD Control' IC points to. I already fixed that here, and we should have a new maintenance release soon because of another issue that broke the GeoIP location services.

Cool. Okay, that's sorted. I guess most people don't upgrade their hardware without a fresh Windoze install.
