I've been repeatedly trying to update since the System Recovery, but can't. It makes a sound as if it did, but doesn't. I even turned off all of my security programs, but it still didn't work.

It's supposed to be as is in this thread I posted in a couple of months ago. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3858&p=13231#p13231

I checked to see the update status and it shows:

What happens when you click on the Download Now button?

It should be something like this: you click on the Download Now button and a progress dialog pops up. Once the download is finished, the Upgrade Manager closes all running Winstep applications and runs the Setup file for the new version. Once Setup finishes, it launches Xtreme again (unless you clear the check box saying 'Run Winstep Xtreme').

Anyway, you can always download the full version from the Winstep web site and install it on top.

Everything worked out. Strange, later on after I turned my security programs back on and tried again, my firewall had numerous prompts for me to allow the updates.

Possibly this happened because my firewall has to relearn everything again? :?

Sounds like it yeah. Good luck with setting everything back to what you like (and whip the security programs when they are not cooperating with you )
