I took quite some time to compile these three links.

I'll start from the lowest of the three to the highest. Before I show the links, I recommend the following.

Make sure your browser is up to snuff! Because if it has some sort of issue with hardware acceleration, an add-on, a Windows update or some other update, possibly security software screwing something up within your browser, you could get a bad result!

To do this in Firefox (I use Firefox), make a new Profile. This is an excellent way to make sure that nothing within the browser is affecting what you do on the net. In other words, a new Profile is pristine. There is absolutely no corruption within the browser. Creating a new one is simple and will not erase your existing Profile. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Creating_a_ne ... on_Windows

Here is the link to make a Profile in Chrome. https://techdows.com/2010/06/how-to-cre ... ofile.html

The links I'll provide will definitely let you know what your system is made of. If your PC has a sufficient enough processor, video card and RAM, you'll pass the test with no problem! However, if you're lacking enough of one or more, you won't pass.

MAKE SURE WHEN YOU PLAY THE VIDEOS, CHECK TO MAKE SURE THE QUALITY SETTING IS AT THE HIGHEST FOR THAT VIDEO!

If your setting does not default to the highest when you click the link, that's usually a telltale sign that it cannot play the video smoothly at the highest quality.

The first video peak setting is 4k, the second one is 5k, and the third, 8k. You might be able to get by without using a 4k monitor and/or TV.

Drumroll...here are the links! They will start from lowest to highest. If you can play the last one with no problem your system is up in the hierarchy of PC's!

PS: I don't think Jorge's newfangled car engine...I mean processor etc, can pass the test! :P

Pft! Didn't even break a sweat on the 8K/60 FPS video on my 4K monitor (and yes, I made sure it was playing at 8K/60 FPS).

Hope you like the videos. So your CPU didn't break a sweat huh?

When I play the 8k video, using the Winstep CPU module, it fluctuates between 13 & 31%. When the video is paused, the CPU reading is between 7 & 16%.

Is your reading similar?

On an 8 core Intel i9 9900K overclocked to 5Ghz on all cores?! Not at all.

If fluctuates between 3-5% while playing the 8K video at 60 FPS full screen. :P

Wow!! That's insane!! I closed all the things I had open except for a couple of programs and ran it again. The reading dropped to 7-24% from the previous 13 & 31% I ran on the previous post. However, not one of the tests were done in full screen.

How do I get a Winstep CPU module reading in full screen? Isn't Winstep designed to not display anything in full screen for obvious reasons? Did I forget about a way to change the settings? If there is, I've never used it.

I'm running a multi-monitor system here, so the modules are always visible on a secondary monitor.

You also have the Most Active Programs list you can get to by right clicking on the CPU module: it shows the two most active applications and their CPU usage in the past 5 minutes.

Hmmmmm, it shows dvm, Firefox and WorkShelf with percentage numbers. I can't ascertain anything from it because the list of the programs are redundant.

So for example it shows Firefox, it has it listed numerous times saying 1% and 2%. What is the correct way to determine how much CPU is being used?

Okay, I read and I understood it, but I didn't. I then searched the net and read up some more and I think I fully understand it now.

What made me understand it was when I searched to find out how many cores I have. I was surprised that it was so easy to find out via the Task Manager. Is that feature a new thing offered in Win10?

Anyway, my system has 4 cores, and 4 logical processors, 3.50 GHz. Virtualization is enabled.

I decided to try to view the Task Manager while watching the 8k video in fullscreen and it worked! My readings are as follows:

The Utilization (CPU Usage) fluctuated between 14 and 40%. It rarely kicked up to 40%. With a calculation in my head, I would say the average high spike was around 30%.

So Jorge, with this revelation, would you be able to add a feature that would allow the user to view the CPU module in fullscreen?

Oh rats!! That would be a cool feature. I figured it could be activated by right-clicking and in the context menu it would say something like "Show in Fullscreen".

I'm interested to hear others results after using the links to test their PC. How many of you can pass the 8k test?!! :D

Jorge, and anyone else, please do me a favor. I want to know if it's a PC issue or a codecs/player issue. DL the 8k video and tell me whether or not you can play it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1La4QzGeaaQ

I have many players installed on my PC. The only one that can do it without stuttering or that simply won't play is MPC-HC (x64).

MPC-HC (x64) plays the video flawlessly.

I have VLC (which is my player of choice), but unfortunately, it won't play the video correctly. It gets stuck at times, will play smoothly for a second, and then stutter. Here are the rest of the players I have installed.

ACG Player-Plays it with very minor stuttering.

Divx Player...basically worthless. Crashes when played. I keep it just a last resort and also just in case the codecs from it helps. If someone can verify that the codecs from it won't help anything, I will uninstall it.

GOM Player-Has so much trouble playing it, it plays in ultra slow-motion.

Kodi-It stutters and will also jump back to the beginning.

MC Media Center 10 Preview-Plays it with minor stuttering.

Movies & TV-Plays it with very minor stuttering.

Photos-Plays it with very minor stuttering.

Windows Media Player-Stutters, stops and skips.

*Windows* Movie Maker-Stutters terribly.

My VLC player is playing it with no hiccups. My system is pretty zesty though.

Motherboard: ASUS PRIME X299-A,

Video Card: ASUS GeForce RTX™ 2070 8GB GDDR6,

Oh, and playing it from Youtube was easy peasy. My machine didn't even burp. Very scenic video. Been seeing quite a few of those types pop up on YT.

An i9?!! Wow!! That's insane!! I wonder who has more power, you or Jorge? Jorge, you better watch out!

With that setup, no wonder the YT video is a breeze.

I just switched the settings in the NVIDIA Control Panel to 'With the NVIDIA settings' hoping it would play. It didn't make a difference. It did however make all the other videos look a little better after I used the NVIDIA settings, so for now, I'm going to leave it that way unless something comes up to make me change it back.

What are your VLC video settings?

It would be great if I got feedback from more people. That way I can get some sort of benchmark to be sure t's a PC issue and not a codecs issue.

My system is:

CPU/Processor: Intel Core i5 7600 @ 3.50GHz 4 Cores
RAM: 16.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1199MHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. H110M-S2H-CF (U3E1)
Graphics Card: 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB (EVGA)
