Hi!
Just bought the app, spent a couple of hours tweaking it, and i was wondering if is it possible to resize the shelf to make it more compact.
check the following screenshot, the superior space is a waste there:

some relevant options:

i'm using the latest beta, 20.4

This app is amazing btw!
cheers!

Seems to me like you changed the vertical icon spacing and that is why you have all that space at the top of the Shelf (Shelf Properties -> Appearance tab -> Icon Spacing).

If that is not it, you might have specified a 'base' value, check it out if it's 0 in Shelf Properties -> Appearance tab -> More Options -> Shelf Base section.

Also, I noticed you have DPI scaling disabled for the Shelf - what is your screen DPI? Does it make a difference if you clear that option?

Hi Jorge, thanks for replying so fast!

i changed the horizontal space, not vertical:

the other settings:

If i enable scalling, its even worse! almost twice the size.

Something is very wrong there and I am not able to reproduce here. I run a Windows 10 VM with DPI settings set to 125% and the same settings as you (apparently) and, as you can see, I don't get the huge spacing at the top.

This said, it looks to me like you might have changed the theme, or at least the size of fonts. The text in the Shelf tabs in your screenshot is larger than the text in the Shelf tabs of mine, and it shouldn't be if the Disable Shelf Scaling on High DPI settings is off.

So, what other changes did you make to that theme? Did you make any changes to the INI configuration files of the DarkTech theme?

Also (again) what is your screen DPI (125%?) ? Are you running more than one monitor?

i did not edit any ini file, since the beguinning it was very big, and i was since trying to tweak it

enabled the default shelf, just decrease the icon size to minimum and vertical space to minimum. look at this:

Edit: its theme related. just found out, its not happening in other themes:

That's weird. Hmmm, try the following: go to the Advanced tab of Preferences and enable the 'notify me of beta (test) versions', then click Check For Updates and let it download and install the v20.4 beta. See if there is a difference, and anyway to make sure what you are running there is what I am running here.

Yeah, but it shouldn't happen in that theme either... it really looks like you changed something on the theme itself.

i'm going to completely remove the app with revo uninstaller, and start over again. Just to be sure about that particular theme.

cheers!

Thanks, please let me know the results... Also, don't forget to download from the Winstep web site, not a 3rd party site. :)
