Ok, download a beta of Winstep Xtreme v25.9 from HERE.

It needs to be installed ON TOP of an existing v25.7 installation. Unzip and exit all running Winstep applications before running setup.

This should fix the integrity check issue and hopefully any further instances of cross-linked or orphaned stacks.

Just tried that - same result. The original theme I started with some time ago had the values at -3 and -2, but I have just now set them to 0 each. Even went into +ve numbers: 5 and 5 - no change.

Are you sure you applied the changes and that the theme for that Shelf is not locked? From what I saw when debugging the code the problem was the LHOffset and RHOffset being large negative numbers. Mini-tabs normally are 32 pixels wide, with a 16 pixel symbol. The offset allows the symbol's position to be moved left or right, but if you go outside the 32 pixel boundary (by providing a very large negative or positive number) the click area and the symbol no longer match.

My bad, the theme was locked which i why the worrkshelf wouldn't change for the Operational shelf.

However once unlocked and making the same changes results in a workshelf that looks like the attached. That was why I had the negative numbers that I did.

Ahah, but now at least you can actually click on the mini-tab symbols and get a reaction lol

Aligning the background bitmap with the symbols probably has to do with some other offset, I will have to look at the code again as I haven't the foggiest idea which one it is lol

Best if you send the theme to the Winstep support address too so I can have a look at it.

Installed and ran integrity check - Recovery shelf (and associated dialog box) was shown.

Will need to play a bit more to see if it prevents new orphaned / cross-linked items.

Out of curiousity though, did you prevent delete of multi-select items on this shelf?

Multi-select works but also shows sub-shelf / grid stack. Clicking on border of parent shelf can enable the sub-shelf / grid stack display to be hidden, but then pressing DEL key does not do anything.

Obviously you can delete an item with right click, but as stated previously this deselects all other items in the multi-select.

Not deliberately but I see why this is happening. Fixed, thanks. :D

Well I will leave my Recovery Shelf with a number of items in it until the next beta, to see if multi-select then DEL works.

Already does, I knew immediately what was causing it and fixed it. Really simple fix, really. :D

You managed to look for a fix for the double-click issue to add into the new beta, or is that for a future release?

Double-click issue?

EDIT: Ah, in the other topic. No, I didn't look into it yet.

OK - just thought it would be nice if you could bundle that into one release

Ok, so BassDudeNZ came up with the idea of colored shelf tabs in the Wishlist thread. His idea was to allow themes to use different bitmaps for each tab with a different color but this is not very practical... it did however make me think about giving the user the option to colorize existing tabs.

Color coding tabs is not just a cosmetic thing, especially if you have a shelf with many tabs: it's faster to visually recognize a color coded tab than it is to read the labels in each tab.

Stardock's ObjectDock Plus already allowed users to specify different colors for different tabs in their tabbed docks, although, if I remember correctly, only when using the default theme.

Anyway, in terms of amount of work this is actually very easy and quick to implement.

There are a couple of caveats though: it does not work for all themes (some themes use transparent tab backgrounds and render the tab text directly into the shelf body, for instance) and for the themes it DOES work you might have to use different types of colorization (the Winstep application allows three different types of colorization: Tinting, Colorizing by shifting Hues and Tinting Monochrome bitmaps). For most themes Hue shifting is the most indicated.

Anyway, initially I was thinking about adding each tab's colorization options to the Tab Properties dialog of each tab, but this would be too time consuming and tedious to configure.

So, I think the best option is a dedicated "Tab Colorization" dialog, where you can select the best Colorization Mode to apply for that theme (including a "None" option so you can quickly turn off tab colorization) followed by a list of the available tabs and a color well next to the name of each tab). Perhaps also a preview of the shelf showing the colorized tabs.
