The filled histogram color settings for CPU and RAM meters are now almost transparent in this update. It's barley distinguishable from outlined histograms especially if you have a bunch of icons on the dock. Is it possible to revert the color settings back to a more opaque like in previous versions?

Please post a screenshot display the filled meters...

I find that "almost transparent" claim a bit strange, sincerely, since here I can distinguish the semi-transparent filled area perfectly. Are you using custom meter backgrounds?

Also, why would the "bunch of icons in the dock" affect the visibility (unless you added so many icons to the dock that icon size is now extremely small, at which point you are almost defeating the purpose of a dock). Are you running the free version of Nexus?

I am using a transparent meter background to get rid of the default gridlines. I reverted to the default, and it's even harder to see imo.

I do use many icons, and it was very noticeable to me right after I ran the update. I am using the free version.

Sincerely I don't think this is a visibility problem, but more a question of preference.

Unfortunately there is currently no way to revert the fill back to a solid color. If other users chime in I might add an option for this in the next release, but until then you are going to have to live with it, sorry.

Speaking from memory here as haven't been in Windows for a bit, I don't see a problem - just a trivial matter of preference.

It only seems like a "trivial matter of preference" because the pictures are zoomed in in my post to show the issue. In reality, it's a major issue for someone who uses many icons in the dock and need a true Filled Histogram rather than a slightly, more opaque Outlined Histogram.

As Jorge already stated, 'many icons' would only matter if you used far more icons than a dock was ever intended for and their size became diminutive. And even then... Nope, I think it's simply a matter of preference.

Thankfully, since you haven't been on Windows in a while, nor have attempted to actually investigate the issue, your opinion is irrelevant. I wouldn't waste mine, nor Jorge's time with something that is simply a matter of preference.

Keep your pants on before making such ridiculous statements. My opinion is never irrelevant, and especially not when my absence from Windows is a matter of about a week or so only. As previously stated, by both Jorge and myself, you'd have to have literally dozens of icons on the dock so that they'd be rendered exceedingly small that this could even conceivably be a problem. And that would defeat the whole point of a dock anyway. So it just boils down to a matter of preference, nothing else. Everything's been looking perfectly acceptable here.

And I wake up to this?

Every opinion is relevant. You may not agree with it, but every opinion is as relevant as yours is. Nexter happens to agree with me, and I'm willing to bet that anyone seeing those screenshots will agree too.

Those screenshots are not "zoomed in". They are actual resolution and for some reason you cropped them horizontally but not vertically.

The real problem is not the new fill semi-transparency, in fact you admitted yourself what the root of the problem is: too many icons on the dock. In other words: you are trying to use the free version of Nexus past its limits.

A dock is a persistent, visual, spatial workspace that uses images (not text) and screen placement (muscle memory) to quickly distinguish between items and access them. It is intended to store your *frequently used* applications - not to hold everything plus the kitchen sink in there.

Above a certain threshold you are better off either using menus and/or organizing your applications into categories using other UX objects. This is where the paid versions come in, by allowing you to organize your stuff into other docks, sub-docks, grid stacks, drawers, shelves and even menus.

After so many years using the free version, you seem to have exceeded it's limits, so perhaps you should consider updating to either Nexus Ultimate or Winstep Xtreme, which will give you a ton of different options to organize your stuff in a clearly visible and more useful way, so you don't have to cram everything together into a single dock.

Then again, this is just my opinion (but it's mine, it's relevant, and I am entitled to it). Feel free to disagree though. :D
