I was asked again how I do some of the 3D stuff. 3DS mainly, also Bryce and a few others... I put a simple wallpaper type bg below that I might make as an example, and a link to many other 3D modelers who also have their stuff online, some of us are in the same places. Anyone asks again I am simply going to point them here. I am over answering the same question.

Here is a link to a site where a few of mine have been up for sale. There was one of mine on this very page. You'll work out which if you have seen my themes if it is still there. It will also tell you that MANY people do it much the same way, just in different applications. Some people prefer MAYA or Blender which are also very good. Blender I believe is still free to use. :)

Anyone wishing to get into 3D modeling:
Some people speak of the detail being super important and many other cosmetic things. Yes they are very important for realism, as are the choice of textures, where your lighting comes from in the 3D field and too much to list - All that stated, if the perspective of what you are creating is not right, the rest isn't worth anything.

*.obj files are one of the more common 3D extension files every good 3D application can import. Many are free to download all over the Internet, so rather than attempting to reinvent the wheel, I suggest downloading some and experimenting with them to see how it was done first.
Cheers

Anyone who is going to download the theme below from the gallery or wincustomize, there are some magnificent wallpapers of Tuscan Vineyards in the link immediately below should you prefer to have either a wallpaper slideshow or your own matching choice. I have tested around twenty randomly and they all work well. Some of them are very beautiful. The one in the image comes with it and truly, in the link, some are quite amazing and I believe better than what comes with the theme.

Thanks but after many decades I learned that we make or break our own luck :D

Terry Pratchett theme uploaded to Wincustomize.

It should be there in a day or so. It cannot be uploaded to the Winstep gallery due to inadequate facility to upload a FULLY compressed set of files greater than 10MB. It is 11.9MB. This is actually small considering the depth of detail in rendering, detail in texturing and creation. Overall it was compressed after resizing from its original 2K sizes by over 90%.

Look on Wincustomize in a day or so.

I raised the browser-side theme-file limit to 15 MB. Provided the server’s upload settings also allow it, you should be good to go. Give it a try.

Eventually I will dive deep into the Themes Gallery as promised, but unfortunately I only have a pair of hands - and one brain, which is currently pretty much overloaded (and has been for quite some time).

I completely understand that you are working hard on the theme builder which is great for any user with an inkling to try and create one of their own and you have to do a proper job of it with no corners cut.

That will more than do for now. :) It is unlikely I will ever exceed 15MB. Just keep in mind that to scale some of the modules down it is an 85% downscaling in some cases and any lower, it is just a blur. Some smaller items are just that but because they're not the focus it is of lesser concern. The Menus I often tend to have them as much as 1/4 of the screen and use the Winstep configuration to shrink as your app loses much less quality than Windows scaling does. This exponentially increases the overall size of the theme unfortunately.

regards.

Uploaded an Update to Terry Pratchett theme in the gallery and wincustomize.
I am not sure whether updates to wincustomize are immediate or of a similar delay but both have been updated.

For whatever reason I did not check the angles on the network gauges.
I noticed it when I was copying a lot of files from one computer to another for backup.
One of the gauges was also set to counter-clockwise.
I have adjusted the span and diameter start and end points more correctly now.

Sorry for any inconvenience.
