I am experiencing a problem with the icons being jittery or shaky rather than smoothly magnifying when moving from icon to icon. Only happens when I have transparency set to more that 50%. I can't find a setting in the preferences that fixes the problem. I am using the Leopard theme docked to the top of the screen. I am using a Dell Inspiron notebook with duo core processor and 4 gigs of ram.

Thanks for any help you can give......

Sorry, not able to reproduce it here. Are you sure it is related to transparency (i.e. 'How transparent do you want your dock to be' setting)?

Also, what's the video card/chipset in your notebook? Could be a video driver problem.

The video card is Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset. 512 MB video memory. I have the latest driver installed. I am sure that it is related to transparency because the problem only occurs if the transparency is set to more than 50% and get progressively worse as transparency is increased. I am only applying transparency to the dock background.

Intel graphic chipset is not very fast, and the transparency being applied to the background only is also an important piece of information.

What version of Windows are you running in the notebook? Vista or Windows 7? If so, try disabling the Glass blur effect.

Same problem. Never thought about changing the transparency until now.

I moved it to 90% and it also dismembered the dock on the left into 3 pieces, and my Desktop pic looked like it was cracked. The cracks were glowing.

Even when left at 50%, it still dismembers the Dock, but only after I touch it. The Desktop Background pic looks normal.

XP Media Center Edition

GEForce Go 6600

Integrated RAMDAC

128 MB of Memory

THIS IS STRANGE!! Jorge, just as I'm reporting this to you, I try again at 90% so I can take a screen shot of the Desktop background pic to post it and all of a sudden everything is working properly!

One thing I remember though, initially when I was making the changes, I was playing .flv videos in VLC media player and had several other windows open. This time, the only thing open was this page.

Another thing to note, there is only a tiny amount of jitter while scrolling through the icons on the Main Dock. If you scroll across UNDERNEATH the icons they work perfectly. Don't do it through the icons.

DonnyG, I have Leopard also. Here is the link to my Desktop in the Post your Winstep Desktop thread. http://forums.winstep.net/phpBB2/viewto ... ight=#9282

Mine is at the very bottom of the page. 2 things to note. It might take a while for the page to load because there are several of them posted. Also, you will probably have to scroll to the right to see the full image.

Hello everybody,

I hope, I´m in the right thread to ask sth. Fist of all: my English isn´t so good, I hope, I can make me understand.

I have now the newest version of winxtreme and I love it. I never saw a better possibility to create my desktop so indiviual. I only miss one function (which I had in my free-version of nexus dock): I don´t find where to switch on, that I can see activatet programms in nexus (there was always a metallic dot above the program icon, while a programm was running). Am I only blind or is this function really missing? I don´t know how much time I already spent by searching it :(

Thanks a lot for answering.

Edit:
Oh sorry, I chose the wrong sub-thread. -.- Perhaps anyone can put it, where it fits better? Thanks and sorry for troubeling :(

That option is available as I had that enabled for my dock.
Are you using the dock or the shelf? If using the dock, go to Workshelf preferences, "Dock & Shelves", select the dock you want the active programs to appear on, go to Properties, Appearance, and at the left bottom area under Content, the second option, is "Show running applications in this dock" or perhaps you're looking for the "Show indicator on shortcuts to applications that are already running" which is to the right, in the middle.
That is what you're looking for. You're welcome :)

In the shelf I can't find that option though. Would be nice to have it, but not necessary for me :)

Hey kutagh,

thanks for your quick reply. I´m using the dock. In my free-version I found it to enable exactly at the place you described me here, if I remeber it right, but in this version it is not there. (I don´t want the window with the running task to be viewed there, as it would be if I use "Show running task on this dock". I want just the "spot" on top of the icon, that shows me, that this programm is already running.)

I just made a screenshot of my preferences-window for the dock (perhaps I am really only blind and you can show me on it where to switch it on?)

Thanks a lot :)

Ah-ah! You must install Winstep Xtreme 9.12 beta 6 from the Winstep web site - you're still running the 9.5 version.
