First of all, I want to say that I wish I came across this product a long time ago. Although, I work for a Microsoft Partner I am just sick of the same ole same ole. I even tried Ubuntu JUST to get a different feel from the OS but it didnt work out for me in the end. This is a great product and love how I can change it up in almost anyway that I like.

For those people that are using Outlook for corporate emails...are guys using the Windows Mail that is part of Nexus to get new email notifications? I would like to use it but have read in the forums that its best to keep Outlook closed if using it to avoid double notifications or allowing Outlook pull the notification and not allowing Nexus to do it.

I get tons of emails a day so would like to have Outlook running at all times. I just want to see what others are doing.

Thanks in advance!

Email Notification tools are no longer as useful as they once were.

This is because in the old days memory (and resources) were scarce and you would only keep your Email Reader open while actually reading email. These days most people just leave their Email Reader Clients running all the time, periodically polling the Email servers for new messages.

The idea of the Email Checker was of having a low resource usage applet running all the time in the background warning you of the arrival of new messages to your email server. THEN you (or the applet) would open the full blown Email Reader, which would in turn retrieve the new messages from the server. You would then read your email and close the client, safe in the knowlege that, as soon as more email arrived, the little Email Checker applet would warn you about it.

Another reason they are not as useful, is that every email account these days is being constantly bombarded with spam messages. This makes the Email Checker warn you constantly about the arrival of new mail.
