I guess the subject pretty much sums it up. I'd like the shelf to be something of an alternative taskbar for my second monitor and keep the collapsed shelf constantly visible.

However, this option doesn't seem to function because all maximized windows overlap, creating a bit of a visual mess.

Is there something more I should do to make this work?

Screen space can currently only be reserved on the primary monitor, sorry.

Reserving screen space on secondary monitors is already on the to-do list.
