I've been trying out the Nexus Dock so far and I think it's almost exactly what I need, but I've been searching all over for the option to hide the dock. Most of the time I want the dock completely visible, but sometimes it will block other text or else show up during full-screen flash videos. I want a way so I can do either / or:

1. Press a hotkey to change the dock's status to autohide (or hide altogether), press again to change it back to always on.

2. click on a shortcut to change dock's status to autohide, click it again to change it back to always on.


Is it possible to do this somehow?

No, but you can hide the dock manually by double clicking the dock control icon, then bumping the screen edge to retrieve it.

Well I think a hotkey option is the way to go for future releases, but this is a pretty good stopgap measure, though it does mean I'll probably want to cram everything on one dock now.

I was bumping this to see if a hotkey option for hiding the dock might be possible for a future release or if it's not even on the radar.

v12.2, which is going to be released this week, will enable you to optionally use the activation hotkeys as 'toggles', i.e.; use once to show, use again to bring forward then hide.
