Since I paid for this program and the e-mail support is not responding to my request I am putting this on the forum.....

ERROR message:
Comctl32.ocx is missing or has not been registered correctly. Please reinstall Winstep Xtreame to fix the problem or contact Winstep support.

I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and still have the same message under;
PREFERENCES:About
PREFERENCES:General
PREFERENCES:Modules

I am running Windows 7 64bit. Everything else is working just great.

Anyone know how to fix this?

not sure why you are getting that particular message. all i get is that comctl32.dll had a problem(says nothing about winstep). now in my case i know it is either a 3rd party app or a 3rd party theme that is causing it and not winstep itself. in my case it hasn't been hurting anything so i've just been dealing with it. i click a tab in nextstart preferences and one time out of twenty i'll get that. all i do is click the tab again and it opens fine. so you might want to check anything you installed after winstep.

edit: you can read the later part of the following thread to see if helps.

This can happen if some rogue application installs another version of that dll into System32 instead of SysWow64 on a 64 bit system.

Here is what you should do:

1. Exit all running Winstep applications.
2. Search the C:\Windows folder for Comctl32.ocx - my guess is that you will find it in two different locations.
3. Delete all copies of comctl32.ocx.
4. Re-install Winstep Xtreme.

gorge i tried this when you suggested it before and no love. all i'm saying is it might work or it might not work. in my case i'm assuming the 3rd app put the extra comctl32.dll back either after i rebooted or when i ran the app.
