After enabling the option to show running applications aswell as pinned items, I have two questions:

1. How do I get rid of the separator between the running applications and pinned items ?

2. Is it possible to filter items from the running applications that are already in the pinned items?

I.e. when I open firefox it will show twice, once in the pinned items section and once in the running applications sections. I only want it to show in the pinned items (with the triangle below)

Edit:
I solved the 2nd question by adding the programs from the pinned items section to the Task Exclusion List. It works although an option for this would be nicer. My 1st question remains.

Basically, if you don't mind me saying, it's your perception that's wrong, not the dock. It's not "pinned items" on one side and "running items" on the other, like the Windows taskbar. The dock is not a taskbar replacement. So, on one side it's "shortcuts" and on the other is "running programmes". Thus, it is totally possible to get duplicate items, if your shortcut app is also running. The fact that Winstep has a feature to indicate whether the linked programme is running, with the little triangle, is just an 'extra'. The same goes for the exclusion list. Remember: a dock is just a bar with shortcuts, which has been extended in functionality to be able to show running programmes as well. It wasn't conceived as a taskbar replacement, even though, lately, it got extended to be able to *almost* cover its functionality.
Sorry, I don't know if you can completely remove the separator.
