I would like to export all shortcuts from all tabs from my shelf. Is this possible?

I see that they are all contained in the wbk file as shown below, haven't found an easy way to export them.

Code:
7Label15=Vegas Pro 12
7Path15=C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 12.0\vegas120.exe

just like your folders, images, movies, music, etc they are not actually on the shelf. basically the shelf just gives you a virtual shortcut. so there is nothing to actually copy to say a folder.

I want a windows shortcut create to a folder for each item on the shelf. The shelf shortcuts are stored in the wbk file. I could write a vbs script to extract the info required to create shortcuts, but I was hoping that there was already a utility available to do this.

Sorry, cap'n, but it looks there isn't such a utility.

I can't help but point out, though, that such a utility would be wanted by someone either completely changing the organisation of their docks and shelves *or* by someone uninstalling Winstep -- and wanting to preserve their shortcuts before they do.
So, all in all... I don't think any programmer would really invest time in that.

The truly interesting part of your problem is that:

If you can code to read the file and extract the relevant info, then you can store the information in a file of your own, that at any moment you can use to rewrite the original file.

Or did I misunderstand the problem?

Yes, I was referring to creating a script to extract required info to use in creating the windows shortcuts.

However, I discovered that holding the Ctrl key while dragging a shortcut from Shelf to windows folder actually auto creates a shortcut!

So in about the same time or less that it would've taken to write a script I used the drag and drop method.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to respond.

Yes, I did misunderstood you. I thought you wanted all shortcuts in a workshelf tab simultaneously. I tried your method but at first I didn't succeed because I keep the icons locked. Unlocking the icons does work. Thanks for the tip.

Glad the problem is solved. Cheers.

Actually, I thought you knew about the drag'n'drop approach but had so many shortcuts that it was not a viable option.
Incidentally, you do know about the fact that you can back-up and restore all settings and layouts from within Winstep, don't you? If you just need to do a reinstall of Winstep or Windows, there's no need to be backing up shortcuts one by one. You can just back up everything and restore everything in one go.
Cheers!
