Hello all,

Since my wife's email was recently hacked, I went in and changed my email password to something more aggressive. I used upper/lower case letters, numbers and symbols.

I tried to use a password with a percent sign in it. The email checker went toes-up when it hit the percent-sign. Are there any symbols that the email checker will allow? I don't want to run the gamut of all the symbols possible in a password to test it out.

Don't know much about the e-mail checker, but if what you described happened I assume it may have the same protocol as attempting to use symbols in Windows, e.g., naming a folder. I know that an * is not allowed.

Maybe you can do a search to find out which symbols are allowed in Windows and see if it matches.

Since the email protocol allows all of the symbols, I would think that the email checker should also allow them, regardless of Windows conventions and constraints.

Maybe someday we'll get Jorge back on board to answer questions like this.
