As it says i'm struggling to keep Nexus toolbar on top of a program I use which insists on full screen coverage. It's ok for a few minutes but it gets knocked down a layer. There are no settings in the dominating program to stop it going 'full screen' and I have the correct options selected for 'stay above all other programs' in Nexus selected. Is there anything else I could do to help it stay on top?

What do you call 'full screen'? A maximized window is a very different beast from a full screen app, and Nexus is designed not to interfere with full screen apps (so it doesn't pop up by accident when you're playing a game, for instance).

This said, you can try associating an hotkey to activate the dock (Behavior tab -> More Options). That way, whenever the other program fights with it for 'who's on top' status, you can simply press the hotkey to bring the dock forward.
