Emailed reply on my issue on Fri., Nov. 6, 5 pm (US ET). Haven't seen reply from you.

Quoting my email reply:

"I followed the boilerplate install instructions in the email with the
registration file. ("How to download and install Nexus Ultimate:
"You DO NOT need to uninstall the free version of Nexus if you are
currently running it. Nexus Ultimate will automatically convert
the free version of Nexus into Nexus Ultimate and your settings
will be preserved
."

I looked in the Control Panel Programs list. Nexus Ultimate 15.9 is
list; Winstep is NOT listed.

I installed to the default folder Winstep. I attached screenshot showing the
executables and dll's. Currently there - Nextstart.exe, Nexus-Ultimate.exe,
Winstep.exe, Workshelf.exe. (nexus.exe isn't there).

You had said: "What I did tell you to do, however, was to delete the executables for Nexus free, WorkShelf and NextSTART from the C:\Program Files (x86)\Winstep\ folder. Those are, respectively:
>nexus.exe
>workshelf.exe
>nextstart.exe
"

Since Winstep is listed under Services and you told me it needs to be there, I'm not deleting anything until you confirm what I should delete.

Also, what would happen if I delete Nexstart?"

Normal. The time zone here is GMT, by then I was already off for the weekend. :)

Anyway, you did well posting here.

Have a look at this product comparison page HERE first and foremost. This will help you understand the difference between Nexus free, Nexus Ultimate and Winstep Xtreme.

NextSTART is a component of Winstep Xtreme and you registered Nexus Ultimate. The problem, as I told you by email, is that you decided to install all three products at the same time, and that made a nice mess of things since they are all related to each other. :)

If you delete NextSTART you lose the customized taskbar and the customized menus. But you will have to delete it now because you registered Nexus Ultimate and NextSTART will stop working once the 30 day trial period of Winstep Xtreme runs out - unless you want to upgrade from Nexus Ultimate to Winstep Xtreme.

As I also mentioned, I'm trying to prevent you from having to re-configure your docks and settings, etc... Otherwise I would just tell you to uninstall anything Winstep related from the Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and you would have to start from scratch.

So, once again, assuming you do not want to upgrade to Winstep Xtreme, this is what you need to delete from

C:\Program Files (x86)\Winstep\

nexus.exe
workshelf.exe
nextstart.exe

Before you are able to delete them, you have to make sure the above applications are not currently running. For that first open the Windows Task Manager in the Processes tab and Terminate any processes with the above names.

Hope this helps! :)

I removed workshelf.exe and nextstart.exe. I don't have Nexus.exe. I exited from the software, then launched again. All seems the same. Good. :)

So, how does one get Wanda the fish to "swim on the desktop"? She's animated, but stays in place. :)

Also .... maybe I should post this separately.... When I drag an icon on a sub-dock to where I want it, usually on the other side of a separator.... the icon that's already on the other side of the separator is duplicated, and the one I was dragging disappeared. This happened to me twice.

I have to repeat. I did NOT install all three at the *same time*.

One other thing.... On this forum, I have "BBCode" ON, but when I look at my post in Preview, I don't see any html; i.e., I don't see words in bold or italic, even though the html tags are in the draft window. :( (I do see the smilies.)

Thanks.

Since 'Wanda on the desktop' is a desktop module, that's a feature only available under Winstep Xtreme, and you're running Nexus Ultimate.

The fact that you can see that option under Nexus Ultimate *is* the bug. Thanks for pointing it out, fixed in the next release. :)

That sounds like a bona fide bug, I'll look into it. Does it only happen on sub-docks?

Never run into that problem... BBCode is not exactly HTML, however. Have you taken a look at THIS page already?

The icon sliding problem has, so far, happened only on the sub-docks. (The main dock is vertical; the sub-docks are horizontal.)

Re the html on this forum, I'm using the controls above the message window.

Like this or like this In the preview, I see the bold, but not the italics. (I used to do simple web pages, so I know these basic codes.)

Yep, looks like the Italics are broken on this board (this should appear in Italics and it isn't).

Probably a by-product of this forum's PHPBB3 customization to fit the Winstep web site.
